Born in the 70s was tough for us. But music took my mind away from poverty. and brought me closer to the path that Jesus has for me today, not knowing that I was going to be a servant of GOD.
Rhythms and leads were a challenge. There were sleepless nights trying to achieve what I was trying to accomplish.
My influences, my Big Brother, Mario Gutierrez, was my main influence. He was learning the updated leads and rhythm, which I adapted to quickly. And now what you see is what you get.

James Maines – Drums/Vocals
A Drummer4God, life with 2 sticks of wood has been interesting. It all started with surf music and alot of practice as a kid. Being self taught hasn’t been easy.
As far as musical influences there are many, from Mozart to modern day jazz. My biggest influence on the drums? Buddy Rich and John Bonham.

Craig Sprout – Bass/Vocals
Craig is the newest member of Overcome. Hailing from the wilds of Montana, his early influences were guitar heros such as Randy Rhoads or Yngwie Malmsteen, but always appreciated bassists.
It quickly became apparent that such goals were just out of reach, and eventually, he decided to sling the 4 (well, actually 5) string.
With influences from James Jamerson to Geddy Lee and Steve Harris, Craig has earned accolades such as, “Well, I’ve played with worse.”
